HUGE list of New Jazz Things in the 2012-08-06 Adds To The Jazz 88 Music Library, including big names like the Brubeck Brothers, Randy Crawford and Joe Sample (with a "Street Life" redo), Dr. Lonnie Smith and Joey D doing their swingingly creative organ things, along with San Diegans (YEA!) with The New from Sue Palmer, Diane Moser, and 7/30/12 TNJT guest Red Fox Tails...along with LOTS MORE NEW! And Marcus Rosario will be sitting in on The New Jazz Thing to spin it all (or as much as can be squeeeeezed into 2 hours), Monday, August 6, 2012, 6-8 PM PT!

JD ALLEN TRIO - "THE MATADOR AND THE BULL" (Saxophonist, leading a pianoless trio, in an
edgy session of originals).

BRUCE BARTH - "THREE THINGS OF BEAUTY" (Pianist, leading a quartet, with vibraphonist Steve
Nelson, with a straight-ahead collection of jazz tunes, standards and originals).

BRUBECK BROTHERS QUARTET - "LIFETIMES" (A straight-ahead mix of tunes by their famous
father, and a couple of originals).

KEVIN COELHO/FUNKENGRUVEN - "THE JOY OF DRIVING A B-3" (16 year old organ prodigy,
leading a trio, in a straight-ahead collection of originals and standards).

RANDY CRAWFORD & JOE SAMPLE - "LIVE" (Female vocalist, backed by a piano trio, with an
eclectic mix of straight-ahead versions, including…yes, “Street Life”).

JOEY DeFRANCESCO - "WONDERFUL! WONDERFUL!" (Organist, with Larry Coryell and Jimmy
Cobb, doing straight-ahead standards).

STEVE EINERSON - "ARRIVAL" (Piano trio, with a swingin’, straight-ahead mix of originals and
standards).

LISA KIRCHNER - "CHARLESTON FOR YOU" (Female vocalist, doing mostly straight-ahead
originals).

PAUL KOGUT - "TURN OF PHRASE" (Guitar trio, with a straight-ahead mix of originals, jazz tunes and
standards, including a solo guitar tribute to Wayne Shorter).

KELLY McCARTY 3 - "ROUX STEADY" (Contemporary trio, doing all originals).

DIANE MOSER - "WDMO" (Local pianist, with local musicians, doing mostly straight-ahead originals).

NEW WORLD BEAT - "AFTER CARNIVAL" (Contemporary/world grooves, with some wildly electric
guitar work).

SUE PALMER - "PARTY FAVORITES" (Sue, doing what she does best, swingin’ hard, with a mostly
vocal set).

KAT PARRA - "LAS AVENTURAS DE PASION!" (Female vocalist, doing Latin tunes).

ROBERTA PIKET - "SOLO" (Pianist, interpreting a mix of originals and standards).

CAROL SABOYA - "BELEZAS" (Female vocalist, doing Brazilian tunes, sung in Portuguese).

GARY UMBERTO SCAPELLETI - "COSMIC RITUAL" – (Drummer, leading a progressive, highly electronic session).

DR. LONNIE SMITH - "THE HEALER" (Organist, recorded live, with a mix of progressive and straight-
ahead tunes).

ERIC VAUGHN - "MINOR RELOCATION" (Pianist, leading a trio and quartet, in a collection of
originals and standards).
