Don't you love it that there are so many NEW and/or unfamilar names added each week to the Jazz 88 Music Library!? This week we've got NEW piano, clarinet, vocal, big band, progressive...alive and well, Jazz is! And we will be debuting these as we do each week on The New Jazz Thing with Vince Outlaw, Monday, August 27, 2012!

Here's a taste of the Rob Scheps Big Band doing one of the Ezra Weiss tunes LIVE...

KAIT DUNTON – “MOUNTAIN SUITE” (Pianist, leading an all-star quintet, in a
straight-ahead collection of originals).

FRANCOIS HOULE 5 +1 – “GENERA” (Clarinetist, doing a progressive collection of
originals).

MARTY KRYSTALL – “LIQUID KRYSTALLDISPLAYED” (Saxophonist, leading a
mostly contemporary vibe, with originals and a few standards).

ROBERTO MAGRIS TRIO – “ONE NIGHT IN WITH HOPE AND MORE” (Pianist,
leading a trio doing Elmo Hope tunes, jazz tunes and originals).

ROB MULLINS – “TRUE” (Pianist, leading and un-named quartet, in a live collection of
mostly originals).

“THE REAL DEAL BIG BAND” – Swinging straight-ahead on standards and some great
obscure tunes).

KATHY SANBORN – “SIX DEGREES OF COOL” (Female vocalist, doing straight-
ahead originals she wrote).

SCHOOL OF MUSIC GRADUATE ENSEMBLE – “MARS APES” (Progressive
quartet, doing all originals).

RICHARD SUSSMAN QUINTET – “CONTINUUM” (Pianist, leading a quintet with a
collection of straight-ahead originals and classics).

ALISON WEDDING – “THIS DANCE” (Female vocalist, doing all her own tunes.
Very eclectic, recommend previewing tunes for dayparts).

EZRA WEISS – “OUR PATH TO THIS MOMENT” (Rob Scheps big band, doing Ezra
Weiss originals and arrangements).
