ALEXIS COLE – “JOY ROAD: THE COMPLETE WORKS OF PEPPER ADAMS, VOLUME 5” (Individual disc, taken from a box set, with vocal renditions of Pepper’s tunes).
NEIL COWLEY TRIO – “THE FACE OF MOUNT MOLEHILL” (Intriguing, crossover set, featuring all originals).
STEVE DAVIS – “GETTIN’ IT DONE” (Trombonist, leading his usual groovin’, straight-ahead session. Great band, doing mostly originals.
LEWIS NASH QUINTET – “THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN” (Drummer, leading a great quintet, doing a straight-ahead selection of Jazz tunes).
U.N.T. ONE O’CLOCK LAB BAND – “LAB 2012” (Yearly release of this great college big band, doing a great mix of jazz tunes and originals).
LOU PALLO – “THANK YOU, LES” (Guitarist, leading an all-star collaboration of some of Les Paul and Mary Ford’s best known tunes. Has Keith Richards singing a passable ‘It’s Been A Long, Long Time’).
DION PARSON & 21ST CENTURY BAND – “LIVE AT DIZZY’S CLUB COCA COLA, VOL.2” (Live double disc, of straight-ahead tunes, incorporating steel pans).
VARIOUS ARTISTS – “JOY ROAD: THE COMPLETE WORKS OF PEPPER ADAMS, VOLS. 1-5 SAMPLER” (A mostly instrumental tribute to the compositions of the great Bari player).
