Lots of great new Jazz vocals being added to the Jazz 88 Music Library this week, including former San Diegan Cath Eckert (known now as Cat Conner), plus Big Band, Guitar (with and without Organ), some well known players (Houston Person, Frank Kimbrough), and some international Jazz. You can hear it all debuted Monday, November 5, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM PT on The New Jazz Thing with Vince Outlaw!

CAROLINE DAVIS QUARTET – “LIVE WORK & PLAY” (Alto saxophonist, doing mostly straight-ahead originals, on the edgy side).

ROBERTA DONNAY – “A LITTLE SUGAR” (Bay area vocalist, doing straight-ahead versions of vintage songs).

HAMMON-ESVELT QUINTET – “SLIGHTLY IN THE TRADITION” (Straight-ahead originals and jazz tunes).

JAROSLAV JAKUBOVIC – “COINCIDENCE” (Czech saxophonist, with an all-star band, doing mostly originals).

FRANK KIMBROUGH – “TRIO LIVE AT KITANO” (Pianist, doing straight-ahead originals, standards and jazz tunes).

TOM MATTA BIG BAND – “COMPONENTS” (Straight-ahead, swingin’ big band, doing all orginals).

HOUSTON PERSON – “NATURALLY” (Saxophonist, leading a quartet, in a typically tasty, straight-ahead session).

FELIPE SALLES – “DEPARTURE” (Saxophonist, leading an edgy session of original material).

WALTER WHITE & SMALL MEDIUM @ LARGE – “BREAKING GOOD” (Swinging big band doing originals and fresh takes on standards).
