The 2013 stream of New Jazz Music releases is starting to come in now and we've got a great batch being added this week. You can hear these new releases FIRST on The New Jazz Thing with Vince Outlaw, Monday, January 21, 2013 6-8PM PT! The complete list of new is after the split and to get you there, here's a clip from Karen Marguth, whose new release "A Way With Words" features San Diego's Gilbert Castellanos who will be appearing with Karen at Dizzy's San Diego Saturday, January 26, 2013 (and isn't that Eva Scow playing Mandolin on this clip...she just played Jazz Live San Diego with Danny Green a couple weeks back!).

BEEGIE ADAIR – “A TIME FOR LOVE” (Typically nice, straight-ahead piano trio,

doing standards).

PATRICIA BARBER – “SMASH” (Female vocalist, with a collection of her own

originals).

THE BATTLE OF SANTIAGO – “FULL COLOUR” (Very edgy Latin grooves).

IZZY CHAIT – “STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART” (German-born male vocalist, with

nice, straight-ahead renditions of standards).

MICHAEL GALLANT TRIO – “COMPLETELY” (Keyboardist, leading a trio, with a

creative collection of straight-ahead originals).

PAMELA HINES – “3.2.1.” (Pianist, leading a trio, with a collection of standards and

Bill Evans tunes).

THE JAZZ PROFESSORS – “DO THAT AGAIN” (Music teacher from the University

of Central Florida, doing a straight-ahead mix of standards and originals).

KAREN MARGUTH – “A WAY WITH WORDS” (Female vocalist, with a double-disc

release of songs by Caroll Coates, featuring San Diegan Gilbert Castellanos).

PETER MARIN – “OVERNIGHT SUCCESS” (Local male vocalist, with a straight-

ahead collection of standards).

NATE NAJAR TRIO – “BLUES FOR NIGHT PEOPLE” (Guitarist, in an acoustic set,

paying tribute to Charlie Byrd).

DOUG ROBINSON – “SOLO/PIANO” (Former San Diegan, with a solo piano outing of

originals).

JACKIE RYAN – “LISTEN HERE” (Female vocalist, backed by the Clayton Brothers,

with Gilbert again making an appearance, doing straight-ahead standards).

ROB RYNDAK – “A WONDERFUL THING” (Pianist, leading a variety of ensembles,

in a nice, straight-ahead collection of originals).
