We've got a great mix of New Jazz Music being added to the Jazz 88 Music Library this week, including the latest from Grammy Award winner Terri Lynne Carrington (her first for last year's "The Mosaic Project"), Jazz Live San Diego guitarist Mimi Fox, and lots more! You can hear it all unwrapped and debuted on The New Jazz Thing with Vince Outlaw, Monday, January 28, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM PT!

TERRI LYNE CARRINGTON – “MONEY JUNGLE: PROVOCATIVE IN BLUE” –
(Drummer, with a core trio of Gerald Clayton and Christian McBride, in a straight-ahead
tribute to her favorite jazz musicians).

JAMES DANDERFER – “PRESENTS THE HUMMINGBIRD BRIGADE” (Brass band,
with a mix of traditional, funky and progressive numbers).

NICK FINZER – “EXPOSITION” (New York based trombonist, leading a sextet, doing
all straight-ahead originals).

MIMI FOX – “STANDARDS, OLD & NEW” (Guitarist, in a solo outing, doing all
standards).

THE GROUP – “LIVE” (All-star, avant-garde collective, recorded in 1986, newly
released).

ELIAS HASLINGER – “CHURCH ON MONDAY” (Saxophonist, leading a sextet, in a
straight-ahead mix of standards, jazz tunes and originals).

STOCKTON HELBING – “CRAZY AQUARIUS” (Trumpeter, leading a quintet and
sextet, in a straight-ahead, if slightly edgy, collection of originals).

ASUKA KAKITANI JAZZ ORCHESTRA – “BLOOM” (Composer and arranger,
leading her big band in a collection of originals, with some vocalese).

TONY LASLEY – “BOSSA NOVA E VOCE” (Local guitarist/vocalist, doing Brazilian
songs in Portuguese).

ORGANISSIMO – “DEDICATED” (Funky organ trio, doing mostly originals).

FABIANA PASSONI – “DIM THE LIGHTS” (Italian chanteuse, doing Latin versions of
new standards).

VOYAGE – “VOYAGE” (Kansas City based quartet, doing a straight ahead collection of
band originals).

EBERHARD WEBER – “RESUME” (Bassist, leading a trio, in a live recording of all
originals).
