A fantastic mix of New Jazz Music being added to the Jazz 88 Music Library this week, including the latest from Jazz stalwarts Kevin Eubanks, Benny Green, Chris Potter, and Wayne Shorter and styles ranging from guitar-led duos to blowing big bands, and latin grooves to New Orleans-style Brass Bands! And we'll debut it all on The New Jazz Thing with Vince Outlaw, Monday, February 4, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM PT! set).

JACOB FISCHER – “GUITARIST” (As title implies, leading a quintet of straight ahead

standards, jazz tunes and originals).

BENNY GREEN – “MAGIC BEANS” (Pianist, leading a trio, in a straight-ahead

collection).

JAMBALAYA BRASS BAND – “ON THE FUNKY SIDE” (New Orleans style brass

band).

RUSSELL KIRK AND THE PATH – “TO JOURNAL SQUARE” (Saxophonist, leading

a progressive session of originals).

MAKR KLEINHAUT/NEIL LAMB – “JONES STREET” (Guitarist, with a duet

recording of straight-ahead originals).

TERRY KLINEFELTER – “ZINGARO” (Pianist, leading a variety of groups, in straight-

ahead originals and standards).

JAWANZA KOBIE – “FEELS BETTER THAN IT SOUNDS” (Keyboardist, leading a

contemporary, fusion-bases session of originals).

LYDIA LIEBMAN – “FAMILIA” (Vocalist, daughter of saxophonist Dave, doing

mostly songs from the Antonio Carlos Jobim songbook).

HEATER MASSE & DICK HYMAN – “LOCK MY HEART” (Female vocalist, backed

by legendary pianist, doing mostly The Great American Songbook).

JIM PEARCE – “YOU ARE AN EDGY VISIONARY SEER” (Pianist/vocalist, doing a

straight-ahead collection of originals).

CHRIS POTTER – “THE SIRENS” (Saxophonist/clarinetist, leading a quintet with an

eclectic mix of all originals).

MONICA RAMEY – “AND THE BEEGIE ADAIR TRIO” (Female vocalist, doing The

Great American Songbook).

WAYNE SHORTER QUARTET – “WITHOUT A NET” (Legendary saxophonist, in a

very edgy, progressive outing).

EMY TSENG – “SONHO” (Female vocalist, doing The Great Brazilian Songbook, and

Brazilian versions of familiar tunes).

U.C.F. JAZZ ENSEMBLE I AND JAZZ WORKSHOP – “THE BLUES IS ALRIGHT”

(Big band and smaller ensembles, doing straight-ahead tunes).
