WOW...what a HUGE list of New Jazz Music to add to the Jazz 88 Music Library for the week of February 18, 2013! And it ranges from vocals to Big Band, straight-ahead to Brazilian, and standards to LOTS of original compositions...Jazz it ALIVE AND WELL! And we'll be debuting as much as we can on The New Jazz Thing with Vince Outlaw, Monday, February 18, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM PT...then check it out all during the coming weeks on Jazz 88! The full list is after the split, but first here is a taste from the new Joe Clark Big Band disc "Lush"....

ANTONIO ADOLFO – “FINAS MISTURAS” (Pianist, leading a variety of groups,

doing straight-ahead originals and jazz tunes).

AARON BAHR DECTET – “PROLOGUE” (Large ensemble, doing straight-ahead,

mostly originals).

KENNY BLAKE FEATURING MARIA SHAHEEN – “GO WHERE THE ROAD

LEADS” (Sax player and female vocalist, doing straight-ahead songs by Peter Morley

and others).

STAN BOCK & THE NEW TRADITION – “FEELIN’ IT” (Trombonist, leading a

straight-ahead session of mostly originals).

JOE CLARK BIG BAND FEATURING JEFF HAMILTON – “LUSH” (Straight-ahead

big band with a mix of standards and originals).

YELENA ECKEMOFF – “GLASS SONG” (Piano trio, doing straight-ahead originals).

CHAMPIAN FULTON – “CHAMPIAN SINGS AND SWINGS” (Female vocalist,

doing straight-ahead versions of standards).

BRAD GOODE – “CHICAGO RED” (Trumpeter, leading an international band with an

eclectic mix of straight-ahead, contemporary and progressive).

GREG HATZA ORGANIZATION – “TO A NEW PLACE” (Organist, leading a quintet

in an eclectic mix of straight-ahead, funky and progressive).

DAVE LALAMA BIG BAND – “THE HOFSTRA PROJECT” (Straight-ahead big band

with a mix of standards, jazz tunes and originals).

JASON MARSALIS VIBES QUARTET – “IN A WORLD OF MALLETS”

(Percussionist, leading a quartet, doing all straight-ahead originals).

TANIA MARIA – “CANTO” (Brazilian vocalist/pianist, doing all Brazilian tunes).

“NILSON MATTA’S BLACK ORPHEUS” (Bassist, leading a variety of configurations

in Brazilian classics).

CHRIS McNULTY – “THE SONG THAT SINGS YOU HERE” (Female vocalist,

backed by some all-stars, with a mix of standards, jazz tunes and originals).

MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS OF JAZZ – “BETTER THAN

ALRIGHT” (Faculty members, including Etienne Charles and Rodney Whitaker, doing

band originals, straight-ahead)

JACK MOUSE GROUP – “RANGE OF MOTION” (Drummer, leading a hard-groovin’,

if very edgy, session of all originals).

STEVE OWEN – “STAND UP EIGHT” (Big band session of mostly original material).

ROB PARTON BIG BAND – “WE’LL BE TOGETHER AGAIN” (Straight-aheadd

standards, jazz tunes and originals).

BILL PETERSON TRIO – “RUBY DIAMOND” (Piano trio, paying tribute to the

leaders inspirations).

DICK REYNOLDS – “MUSIC & FRIENDS” (Straight-ahead big band, doing all

originals).

“WOLF & CLARK EXPEDITION” (Pianist Michael and drummer Mike, joined by

bassist Chip Stephens, in a straight-ahead, somewhat edgy of originals, jazz tunes and

standards).
