One World 2013 Favorites Part 1
Blog Name: One WorldAuthor: Marcus Rosario Posted on: December 24, 2013
Last week I put together my last One World of 2013 showcasing my favorite releases of the year. There's so much amazing music that came out this year from all over the world as I tried to include as much information about each song and release for your interest. This is part one!

John Wizards “Maria” — John Wizards (Planet Mu) [Magical and dreamlike vibes from South Africa.]

Skip&Die “La Cumbia Dictadura” — Riots In The Jungle (Crammed Discs) [So many different sounds that I like to describe as "hybriddims".]

Owiny Sigoma Band “Magret Aloor” — Power Punch (Brownswood) [Nairobi by way of London. Very upbeat and frisky!]

Atropolis “Reza Por Mi (Featuring Lido Pimienta)” — Transitions (Cumba Mela) [Tropical bass producer with his debut album. Been about this guy's music for a minute!]

Various Artists “Raba Raba (Uproot Andy Remix)” — Worldwide Ting Vol. 2 (Que Bajo) [One of my favorite producers and tropical bass crews ever, direct from Brooklyn!]

Clap! Clap! “Please Mother Rain Wash Our Souls From Human Evil” — Gwidingwi Dema (Origami Sound) [Some forward-thinking modern day tribe-influenced club music.]

Psilosamples “Tijuana Adventures” — Norte Sonoro EP 2 (Independent) [Here's a cool link to information about this dope project.]

Quantic Y Anita Tijoux “Doo Wop (That Thing)” — Doo Wop (That Thing) (Tru Thoughts) [The one known as Will Holland taking it there covering the Lauryn Hill classic with one of Chile's most prolific MCs]

Frikstailers “Murga del Guachin” — En Son de Paz (ZZK / Waxploitation) [Live performance taken from Boiler Room. So many musical gadgets!]

Débruit & Alsarah “Jibal Alnuba” — aljawal الجوال (Soundway) [One of my most favorite records released this year by a long-time favorite producer of mine. The vocalist is amazing!]

Ruspo “Altamira” — Esses Patifes (Um Distante Maestros) [One of my favorite records of 2013, hands down.]

Faba Loba “Immigration Clandestine” — Senegalesa (Art Hurts) [Straight outta San Diego! Couldn't find a link to post for this one unfortunately.]

Aline Frazão “Tanto” — Movimento (Pontozurca) [Another one of my all-time favorite records this year. Beautiful music video to accompany too.]

Armadillo “Aves del Valle” — Es Posible (Portafonico) [Amazing ethereal cumbia out of Buenos Aires, complete with a wonderful video.]

Tremor “Huella (feat. Micaela Chauque)” — Huella (ZZK) [Forever a fan of that digital cumbia.]

Boogarins “Erre” — As Plantas Que Curam (Other Music) [Youthful Brazilian garage rock.]

Astro “Colombo” — Astro (Nacional) [There's so much amazing music coming out of Chile these days!]
