This list is absurd. I assume that "retired winners" cannot make the list for a second time. The great jazz musicians that are NOT on this list astounds me. I can only assume that that voters are largely recent converts whose brains have been turned to mush by years of easy listening jazz. Where are Sonny Rollins, Diz, Bird, Mingus, McCoy, Ornette, Roach, Oscar Peterson, and the three inventors of the tenor as a jazz instrument--Prez, pork pie hat and Frog??? Your list is like a list of NBA greats that excludes Michael Jordan, Kareem, Wilt, Kobe, and Dr. J. I am really surprised to see all of the black musicians excluded in a list involving an art form created by blacks. I am a white Jew born in Brooklyn so I am happy that Stan Getz had a successful career but he just isn't in the same league as the black musicians omitted from the list. Chet Baker and no Diz is just insane.
