ArtPower Recharged
ArtPower is moving forward in 2012. The Calder Quartet (January 27) toured with Andrew W.K. so it could be argued that they are musical siblings of The Bad Plus, and this performance will feature the work of composer Jacob Cooper. Nice! Meanwhile, keep an eye out for Kamau Kenyatta Quartet on February 7. As we are all different in our pursuits and delights, so too is ArtPower consistently diverse and invigorating.

New Village Arts
New Village Arts presents Comedy of Errors beginning February 11. It's a Shakespearian Comedy about long-lost identical twins so there will be New Bard Conversions aplenty, no doubt. Buried Child is on the program for March. More information at 760-433-3245 or online.

La Jolla Playhouse
The La Jolla Playhouse presents American Nights: The Ballad of Juan José beginning January 27. This is the latest work from Culture Clash, which means it will be too real and too funny. Then it's The Car Plays starting February 23. In March, Sandra Bernhardt and Second City double team the humor. Information at 858-550-1010 or online.

San Diego Symphony
San Diego Symphony continues to brighten our lives; von Oeyen plays Schumann, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Itzhak Perlman just around the corner. Information at 619-235-0804 or online.

Oceanside Museum of Art
Whatever you do, don't forget the Oceanside Museum of Art if you're adding more culture to your being. Even if you're okay with your personal status quo, unless that's a passive oxymoron, then by all means you should move yourself to check out something new. OMA is located at 704 Pier View Way in Oceanside.
