Lots of familiar (David Chesky, Fred Hersch, Charnett Moffett, Barbara Morrison...Jazz Live alum!, Eldar Djangirov, Frank Vignola, Phil Woods) and not so familiar (Larry Carlton / Robben Ford leading a band, Molly Ringwald doing "Don't You Forget About Me") plus a whole lot more NEW being added to the Jazz 88 Music Library this week. We will debuting a bunch of it on The New Jazz Thing with Vince Outlaw, Monday, April 8, 2013, 6-8PM PT! BOB ARTHURS – “JAZZ FOR SVETLANA” (Trumpeter, in a duet with guitarist Steve
Lamattina, doing straight-ahead standards, two of them vocal).

MICHAEL BLAKE – “IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS” (Saxophonist, leading
a quartet in a progressive session of mostly originals).

LARRY CARLTON/ROBBEN FORD – “UNPLUGGED” (Guitarists, leading a quartet
in a mixed bag of straight-ahead and blues).

DAVID CHESKY – “THE NEW YORK RAGS” (Solo piano recording of ragtime style).

CHRIS CLARK QUINTET – “CEDAR WISELY” (Sax player leading a quintet, in a
progressive session of originals).

JAY D’AMICO QUINTET – “TANGO CALIENTE” (Pianist, leading a quintet of
straight-ahead originals).

BENOIT DELBECQ AND FRED HERSCH DOUBLE TRIO – “FUN HOUSE” (Pianist,
playing in a very progressive session).

ELDAR DJANGIROV – “BREAKTHROUGH” (Pianist, leading mostly a trio, doing
originals and standards, straight-ahead).

“ELEGANT BOUND” – (A sextet, doing all straight-ahead originals).

JARED GOLD – “INTUITION” (Organist, leading a trio, in mostly straight-ahead
originals. Couple of Carole King and Dave Stryker tunes).

DANNY JANKLOW – “RECURRING DREAMS” (Local, youthful, alto player, doing a
straight-ahead mix of originals, jazz tunes and standards).

LENNY MARCUS TRIO – “TONK-A TRIBUTE TO RAY BRYANT, VOL.2” (Pianist,
leading a quintet, in mostly Ray Bryant tunes).

CHARNETT MOFFETT – “THE BRIDGE: SOLO BASS WORKS” (Yes, an entire
recording of solo bass).

BARBARA MORRISON – “A SUNDAY KIND OF LOVE” (Jazz Live alum singing
straight-ahead standards and blues).

SEAN NOWELL – “THE KUNG-FU MASTERS” (Saxophonist, leading a septet, in a
mostly contemporary session).

RON OSWANSKI – “DECEMBER’S MOON” (Pianist, leading a mostly straight-ahead
session of originals and new standards).

LINDA PURL – “MIDNIGHT CARAVAN” (Actress turned vocalist, doing straight-
ahead standards and jazz tunes).

MOLLY RINGWALD – “EXCEPT SOMTEIMES” (Actress turned vocalist, doing
straight-ahead versions of the Great American Songbook, and a version of…yes…”Don’t
You Forget About Me”.

JIM SNIDERO – “STREAM OF CONCIOUSNESS” (Alto player, leading a quartet, in a
collection of straight-ahead originals).

FRANK VIGNOLA & VINN RANIOLO – “MELODY MAGIC” (Guitarists, doing
gypsy-jazz versions of Classical melodies and new standards).

PHIL WOODS AND THE DePAUL UNIVERSITY JAZZ ENSEMBLE – “RIGHT TO
SWING” (Legendary altoist, with small group and big band).
