Short list of new discs being added to the Jazz 88 Music Library this week. You can hear them all debuted LIVE on The New Jazz Thing with Vince Outlaw, Monday, July 8, 2013 6-8 PM PT. 

JEFF ANTONIUK & THE JAZZ UPDATE – “HERE TODAY” (Saxophonist, leading a quintet, doing straight-ahead standards and originals).

ANDY BEY – “THE WORLD ACCORDING TO ANDY BEY” (Vocalist, backing himself on piano, doing standards jazz tunes and originals).

ETIENNE CHARLES – “CREOLE SOUL” (Trumpeter, leading a straight-ahead, creole-infused session of originals, and some others).

TRILOK GURTU – “SPELLBOUND” (Indian percussionist moving through originals and pieces by Miles, Cherry and Gillespie, with an all-star brass cast).

OLIVER JONES – “JUST FOR MY LADY” (Canadian pianist, leading a trio, with some tracks joined by violin, doing straight-ahead originals and standards

DANA MARCINE – “SO UNEXPECTED” (Female vocalist, doing straight-ahead standards, and her own originals).

CHRISTIAN McBRIDE TRIO – “OUT HERE” (Bassist, leading a piano trio, doing straight-ahead standards, jazz tunes and originals).

CHRIS MORRISEY – “NORTH HERO” (Bassist, with his follow-up to “The Morning World”, leading a quartet with a set of fresh originals).

MARY STALLINGS – “BUT BEAUTIFUL” (Female vocalist, singing the Great American Songbook).

TIM WARFIELD – “EYE OF THE BEHOLDER” (Saxophonist, leading an all-star quintet, in a collection of mostly originals, some tracks on the edgy side).
