The free and independent nature of Jazz Music today is evident in the few but representative (progressive, vocal, Latin, straight-ahead, Ohio-based, pianoless, hard-core, Francois) NEW being added to the Jazz 88 Music Library this week and debuted LIVE on The New Jazz Thing @Jazz88 with Vince Outlaw, Monday, July 22, 2013 6-8 PM PT! View the new, after the split, but get a hint of it from San Diego's Sacha Boutros and a French lyric that I loved from "Ellington Indigos" sometime ago :)

DAVE AKE – “BRIDGES” (Pianist, leading a variety of ensembles, in a collection of mostly progressive originals).

SACHA BOUTROS - "NY AFTER DARK" (San Diego vocalist)

PAUL CARLON – “LA RUMBA IS A LOVESOME THING” (Latin takes on the music of Billy Strayhorn, with half vocal tracks).

JON DAVIS – “ONE UP FRONT” (Pianist, leading a trio, doing straight-ahead originals, standards and jazz tunes).

BAMBO KINO – “AMERICAN DELUXE” (Ohio-based bassist, leading a mostly contemporary session).

SCOTT NEUMANN NEU3 TRIO – “BLESSED” (Saxophonist, leading a pianoless trio, doing progressive, mostly originals).

RESONANCE – “INTRODUCTIONS” (Octet, including strings, doing good arrangements of originals, standards and jazz tunes).

MONGORAMA – “BAILA QUE BAILA” (Hard-core Latin grooves, mostly vocals).

DAN ROSE – “OASIS” (Guitarist, with pianist Claudine Francois, doing very nice originals).
