There is a wide range of New in the 2013-8-19 Adds To the Jazz 88 Music Library this coming week...from Alto, Piano, Flute, Baritone, Guitar, All-Star Ensembles, Male and Female Vocal and more! Hear them all debuted LIVE on The New Jazz Thing @Jazz88 with Vince Outlaw, Monday 6-8PM PT, August 19, 2013. The entire list of New is after the split, but to wet your Jazz whistle, here's work from San Diego guitarist Tony Taravella, who's releasing his debut recording "In A Sentimental Mood" this week featuring San Diego Jazz greats like Wofford, Sprague, Moore, and Magnusson...enjoy!

RON APREA SEXTET – “REMEMBERING BLAKEY” (Alto player, doing straight-ahead originals, with a couple of standards and jazz tunes).

MAC CHRUPCLACA TRIO – “ONE MORE FOR THE ROAD” (Pianist, leading a trio in a straight-ahead collection of standards and jazz tunes).

ANNE DRUMMOND – “REVOLVING” (Flutist, leading a variety of ensembles, doing mostly originals).

GILAD EDELMAN – “MY GROOVE, YOUR MOVE” (Alto sax player, leading a quintet, in a straight-ahead session of mostly jazz tunes and standards).

CHARLES EVANS – “SUBLIMINAL LEAPS” – (Baritone saxophonist with a release written for and featuring David Liebman. Presents six compositions of classical techniques and harmonies fused with free improvisation).

MAUD HIXSON – “DON’T LET A GOOD THING GET AWAY” (Female vocalist, singing songs by composer Mickey Leonard).

EARL KLUGH – “HAND PICKED” (Solo guitar outing, with special guests on some tracks. Old and new standards).

KATHY KOSINS – “THE SPACE BETWEEN” (Female vocalist, singing a mix of standards and obscure tunes).

GINA KRONSTADT – “COME OVER” (Female vocalist, backed by all-star musicians, doing contemporary originals).

MACK AVENUE SUPERBAND – “LIVE FROM THE DETROIT JAZZ FESTIVAL” (Live recording of a mixed bag of jazz tunes and others).

PETE McGUINNESS – “VOICE LIKE A HORN” (Male vocalist, with a collection of straight-ahead standards and jazz tunes).

ERIC REVIS – “CITY OF ASYLUM” – (Bassist, leading a trio, doing minimalistic/ avant-garde improvisations, originals, and re-arrangements of Monk and Jarrett tunes).

KATHY SANBORN – “SULTRY NIGHT” (Female vocalist/pianist, doing all her own songs).

TONY TARAVELLA – “IN A SENTIMENTAL MOOD” (Local guitarist, with local all-stars, performing straight-ahead jazz tunes and standards).

TARBABY – “BALLAD OF SAM LANGFORD” - (Trio co-led by pianist Orrin Evans dishing up a free-formed creative music collective).

LEONARD THOMPSON – “WAYFARE” (Pianist, leading a trio, in straight-ahead originals).

VARIOUS ARTISTS – “SALSA DE LA BAHIA, VOL.1” (A collection of mostly vocal Latin and salsa grooves, performed by Bay Area artists).
