STANLEY CLARKE – “UP” (Mack Avenue)
(Guitarist with an energetic, rhythmic and upbeat effort featuring special guests Stewart Copland, Chick Corea and Joe Walsh).
KRISTIN KORB – “FINDING HOME” (Double K Music)
(Bassist/vocalist writing all original material working different angles with each song, including pop, swing, ballads, Brazilian-based scenarios, and a NOLA-influenced number. She’ll also be playing in San Diego at Dizzy’s in November).
KENNY WERNER - “COALITION” (Half Note)
(Pianist, with a new quintet formed out of the desire to work with a younger generation of multi-cultural jazz artists, resulting in a set of diverse rhythms and wide-ranging approaches featuring collaborative contributions from the group).
CHICK COREA TRIO – “TRILOGY” (Concord)
(Triple-CD set recorded live around the world with his trio featuring McBride & Blade, reinventing classic Corea compositions, previously unreleased originals, and an array of standards).
CONRAD HERWIG - “THE LATIN SIDE OF JOE HENDERSON” (HN)
(Trombonist, with a new and sixth entry Latin Side of…date, showcasing it within the framework of Afro-Cuban and Afro-Caribbean perspective.)
MEDESKI, SCOFIELD, MARTIN & WOOD – “JUICE” (Indirecto)
(Collective quartet with their third studio effort and fourth album overall, with a collection of tunes inspired in the intersection of improvisation and rhythms from the Afro Latin diaspora).
ADAM MECKLER ORCHESTRA – “WHEN THE CLOUDS LOOK LIKE THIS” (Self released)
(Trumpeter and a collection all originals with influences ranging from Maria Schneider to Sam Rivers. Presenting soulful, melodic, and sometimes groove-oriented compositions brought to focus by a band made up of eighteen ‘Twin Cities’ young jazz musicians).
ANDY MILNE & DAPP THEORY – “FORWARD IN ALL DIRECTIONS”
(Pianist with the band’s third release chronicling their 15-year journey, produced by Grammy Award winner Jimmy Haslip. All originals that meet the point of lyrical jazz piano, funkified polyrhythmic exploration & spoken word poeticism).
WADADA LEO SMITH – “THE GREAT LAKES SUITES” (TUM)
(Trumpeter, presenting his latest small ensemble (H. Threadgill, J. Lindberg, J. DeJohnette) for a 2-disc set of creative recordings for extended works – six compositions each dedicated to and inspired by the Great Lakes).
IVO PERELMAN & KARL BERGER – “REVERIE” (Leo Records)

(Grammy-nominated pianist leads a trio featuring Peter Erskine showcasing a collection of straight-ahead originals and standards).
MARK TURNER QUARTET – “LATHE OF HEAVEN” (ECM)
(Saxophonist with his leader debut release on ECM. The quartet doesn’t feature a chordal instrument, allowing spaciousness for certain freedoms. Album title refers to Ursula K. Le Guin’s 1971 sci-fi novel of the same name. There are also gestural allusions to Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter, as well as Stevie Wonder).
ROSEANNA VITRO – “CLARITY” (Random Act)
(Vocalist with a follow-up to her Grammy-nominated recording, once again paying tribute to a pioneering composer of renown, Clare Fischer. The date focuses on Fisher’s passion for bossa nova, Afro-Caribbean music and swing).
