- Vocalist/Multi-Grammy nominee, doing another collaboration with pianist/arranger Geoffrey Keezer. Together, they explore new territory by taking on the music of modern pop and jazz masters.
TOM HARRELL – “FIRST IMPRESSIONS” ~ High Note
- Trumpeter with his nine-piece chamber ensemble draws inspiration from European classical music and interprets the works of French composers Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy.
JEFF LORBER FUSION – “STEP IT UP” ~ Heads Up
- Keyboardist featuring a session of collaborative originals alongside Jimmy Haslip that expands the boundaries of contemporary and fusion jazz. Special guests appearances by Bob Mintzer and Robben Ford.
DAVE McDONNELL GROUP – “THE TIME INSIDE A YEAR” ~ Delmark
- Saxophonist leading his working ensemble comprised of familiar Chicago faces in the creative music community, for a program of all sturdy post-bop-leaning originals.
JEN SHYU & JADE TONGUE – “SOUNDS & CRIES OF THE WORLD” ~ PI Recordings
- Experimental jazz vocalist/multi-instrumentalist and 2014 Doris Duke Impact Award recipient, presents original works that reflect a culmination of her travels through East Timor, Korea, Indonesia and Taiwan, where she spent years immersing herself in the language and music of various indigenous music cultures.
JOHNNY SUMMERS – “PIANO SESSIONS, VOL.2” ~ JSQ
- Trumpeter/vocalist featuring Tommy Banka performing a variety of traditional jazz, New Orleans jazz, soul and blues, and a few classics from the American Songbook.
GLENN TUCKER – “DETERMINATION” ~ DMF/Mack Avenue
- Pianist with his sophomore release featuring a group that ranges from a trio to a sextet, playing some hard-hitting, gritty and soulful music that reflects the Detroit hard bop tradition.
