Claudia Russell, Jazz 88 Program Director and friend extraordinaire, relates this news of the passing of Maurice Turner...

Many of you knew Maurice, a long-time contributor to Jazz 88.  Not only was he a member, but also programmed several world shows with Damaja Le in the '90s and early '00s.  He was a huge fan of jazz and music from around the world and always encouraged our announcers. Maurice also contributed to the Jazz Artists Guild newsletter.

I did  a bit of searching on the net for news or bio or images on Maurice but could find nothing. It doesn't sound like there should be nothing about this long time supporter of Jazz 88 and Jazz Artists in San Diego (and elsewhere, I'm sure).

Let's use the Jazz 88 Blog "Leave Your Comment" feature to pay some respects, share any links about Maurice, and maybe build enough info to back-up a Wikipedia page about Maurice. Sounds like he might deserve it.
