  • Melissa Aldana Interview - Last Monday evening, September 16, 2013, Melissa won the prestigious 2013 Thelonious Monk Institute Saxophone Competition, taking home a $25,000 prize and an album recording date with Concord Records. We'll be chatting with her about her new award, what she had to do get there, and what she will  be doing now as the reigning Monk winner and listening to some of her music! She will be with us by phone in Hour 2 of The New (7-8 PM PT).
