Jazz 88.3 is joining all Frank Sinatra fans in celebration of the Chairman of the Board's Centennial (100th birthday)! In fact, we'll be hosting a tour of Ol Blue Eyes' favorite haunts in the desert, along with a concert and party at his house, located in the heart of beautiful Palm Springs! It's all happening TODAY and YOU can join us! Just make a $235 (per-ticket) contribution to your favorite Jazz and Blues radio station and you’ll be all set! Here's all the details—simply give us a call before noon at 562-619-1101 to make your reservation. The bus headed to Palm Springs leaves City College (Lot 1) at 1:30PM.

Saturday, December 12, 2015 - Frank's 100th Birthday

The Jazz 88 Tribute to Frank Sinatra begins Saturday morning at 7 AM on Jazz with Ric, with Singers Sing Sinatra a special program of singers singing songs associated with the Chairman of the Board.

Our Sinatra Celebration continues at 9 AM Saturday Jazz with Jim McInnes featuring A Jazz Tribute to Frank Sinatra - jazz legends and rising stars playing Sinatra classics.

At 3pm PT, Phil Dinsen’s Jazz West Coast explores the cool side of the Sinatra Songbook.

Sunday, December 13, 2015 - The Sinatra Special Continues

On Sunday, our weekend tribute continues from 10 AM Big Band Brunch with Ross Porter showcasing the big band versions of Frank Sinatra's hits. 

The centennial celebration concludes from noon to 3, with the Queen of Swing, Ida Garcia, and three hours of Exclusively Frank.

Jacobs Presents: Soweto Gospel Choir, Sunday, December 20th at The Jacobs Center, celebrating the inspirational power of African Gospel music with two special holiday performances (Matinee Show: 4PM; Evening Show: 7:30PM) by the world renown Soweto Gospel Choir. The Bad Plus came together at the end of the 20th century and has avoided easy categorization ever since, winning critical hosannas and a legion of fans worldwide with their creativity, unique sound and flair for live performance. Based in New York City, the intensely collaborative trio has constantly searched for rules to break and boundaries to cross, bridging genres and techniques while exploring the infinite possibilities of three exceptional musicians working in perfect sync.
