Idyllwild Arts is accepting enrollment for the Jazz In The Pines Student Clinic happening June 30th - July 13th. This two-week session is built around the return of Jazz In The Pines, giving students an exciting opportunity to learn from and see performances form Jazz greats in an intimate festival environment, a truly unique experience not offered at other camps. Bob Boss: 1952-2024

The San Diego jazz community lost a beloved family member when guitarist Bob Boss died unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 18, in Idyllwild, after performing what would be his last concert. Within hours, tributes began to flood social media from fellow artists, former students, and loving family members and friends who never wanted the music to end. He was 71.

Join KSDS for a FREE film screening as we continue to celebrate The Coltrane Legacy for Black History Month. The event will be held in the AH Building at City College. Room 306 TONIGHT at 7:30PM. It will be a one-of-a-kind film that will highlight John Coltrane's career and show the only existing footage that exists of Trane.

You can park in Lot 8 for FREE. Just input “1343 C Street” and the parking lot is directly across from that address. The event is open to the public.

KSDS will be celebrating a different kind of President today.  Join us as we salute the "PREZ," Lester Young. We will play his music throughout the day focusing on the different periods of his illustrious career. And, at 7PM (Pacific), Loren Schoenberg, one of the foremost experts on Lester Young, will delve deep into Lester's career. There will be rare recordings, clips, interviews, and, of course, music. KSDS gets Prezidential- beginning at 7am.

KSDS-FM remembers Clifford. This Morning, KSDS will celebrate the birthday of trumpeter Clifford Brown. This fundraising event will focus on the way too short career of one of the most influential horn players in the history of jazz. We will feature segments throughout the day that follow his journey as a trumpeter and composer and offer great thank you gifts for your donation during this special birthday celebration, beginning at 9AM today.

The San Diego Jazz Community is invited to a celebration of life for Robert Bush. He was a beloved brother, father, uncle, grandfather and an invaluable friend and voice of the jazz and music scene in San Diego and beyond. The event in this Saturday at 3:30PM at the Athenaeum Art Center located at 1955 Julian Ave in San Diego.
