Jazz Explorations (Saturday's 7-10am PT) host Ken Poston tells the story in "Yardbird in Lotus Land", Saturday, August 27, 2016, including it's San Diego connection Jim McVea, through very rare music and interview segments, including McVea's telling of his last minute call to play with Dizzy, Bird and Slim Galliard on the "Slim's Jam" sessions.
