Jazz on Tap continues this year announcing a high-energy jazz event highlighting local artists in a relaxed in-person outdoor setting and a virtual format. There will be live performances by Gilbert Castellanos, The Monette Marino World Jazz Ensemble and The Euphoria Brass Band. Proceeds from the event will benefit Water For People, a non-profit dedicated to changing lives by making clean water and sanitation available to everyone. The event will be held Sunday, June 13 in the Garden Terrace at the Westin Hotel in the Gaslamp. Doors open at 3:30PM and the live stream begins at 4:45PM. Live Jazz is back in San Diego. KSDS and ElectricLouieLand Productions bring you the best of San Diego Jazz for ‘Jazz Night San Diego.’ Tune in at 5PM Pacific every Saturday night for a broadcast that features recently captured performances all around San Diego County. Gilbert Castellanos and some of his closest Jazz friends will be featured in concerts that will entertain and inspire. That’s Jazz Night San Diego, Saturday nights at 5PM Pacific, only on KSDS 88.3.

March is Women's History Month and KSDS-FM is celebrating by shining the spotlight on the great female jazz pianists. Listen every weekday throughout the month to hear our daily featured artist. And, if you would like to nominate your own, please do when you make a pledge of support. 

On Monday, February 15th, KSDS will be celebrating a different kind of President. Join us as we salute the "PREZ," Lester Young. We will play his music throughout the day focusing on the different periods of his illustrious career. Featuring rare recordings, clips, interviews, and, so much more. KSDS gets Prezidential- beginning at 7am. 

February is Black History Month and KSDS-FM is celebrating by shining a light on The Bebop Era, 1945 to 1950. Join us every weekday to hear special audio vignettes that focuses on Bebop's notable legends and venues. If you contribute $100 or more at any point in February you will receive a special KSDS custom CD- "Live from the Royal Roost" sometimes referred to as The Metropolitan BOPera house. KSDS Resident Theater Critic Pat Launer has her annual end-of-the-year chat with Dave Drexler on "Inside Art"... Despite all the shutdowns, she managed to watch more than 200 theater performances. Hear her talk about 2020: The Best of Theater in the Worst of Years.
 

KSDS/Jazz88.3 is kissing 2020 good-bye and ringing in the new year with the sounds of swingin' Big Bands! It's happening right now- "Big Bands Coast to Coast and Around the World!"
